Tune-Up Cafe

August 20, 2024

The“Tune-Up Café” is designed for individuals living with early to moderate stage dementia and their family or friend care partner. We also believe that those who are recovering from a stroke and interested in strengthening their speech/vocabulary, together with their care partner would find attending both helpful and enjoyable! We could just be a very good fit/resource for adult brain injury survivors – those with mild cognitive impairment and their care partner.

We are an inclusive and welcoming meeting place for singing, making social connections, and sipping on a cuppa!  Our meeting place is The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo Street North – close both to Corydon Ave. and Pembina Hwy.  We are also proud to be a community partner program with the MB Alzheimer’s Society.

Our “Fall” and ongoing sessions will run weekly, Tuesdays, from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m., starting on August 20. At this time, we do not have an end date in mind but will wait and see how the colder months impact attendance and whether we will need to take a hiatus.

Thanks in a very large part to the New Horizons for Seniors Program, there is currently no fee to attend. However, because space is limited, pre-registration is required by sending an email to tuneupcafe276@gmail.com to express interest.
