Care Possible is an accessible online community of independent care providers that connects people and families in need of respite and home care services with vetted providers available in their community.  Care Possible is an initiative of Manitoba Possible (formerly the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities), a non-profit that believes an inclusive and accessible society is possible. Care Possible helps eliminate barriers for those who choose to hire their care provider directly by reducing the challenges associated with identifying suitable care providers.  Historically, persons seeking to hire their care provider directly had to rely on online classified ads, community bulletin boards, and word of mouth. In keeping with their vision of an inclusive and accessible society, Manitoba Possible is addressing this barrier using a technology-based approach.  Following a user-friendly process to create a profile, the client has instant access to a list of qualified, vetted independent care providers in their area. To ensure that they can connect with the best possible fit, profiles can be filtered by skills, language, certifications, availability, and more. They can connect with available care providers using built-in instant messaging to discuss their needs, evaluate fit, and schedule their care services.  Once services have been provided, payments are made electronically, and usage reports can be generated on demand. Care Possible supports the process from end to end at an accessible cost to the client and removes the need for payroll services.
