Description:
Thorvaldson Care Center is a government licensed, family owned and operated Intermediate Care facility providing care to seniors since 1959. "Enhanced" Personal Care is provided to those who require more assistance than in Supportive Housing residences, or in a Retirement Residence. Intermediate Care provides "lighter" support to residents as compared to the, more complex care provided in a Personal Care Home.
Twenty-four hour care is provided by Health Care Aides with First Aid and CPR training. Registered Nurses are available Monday through Friday. All medications, such as inhalers, and eye drops are administered and there is assistance with activities of daily living including bathing. There are Nurse Call stations in each suite.
Three home-prepared delicious meals are offered every day and as well, there are snacks throughout the day. Services such as housekeeping, laundry, including personal laundry services, are included. An accredited activity director is in charge of the daily recreation programs.
