Senate Review of the 2004 Health Accord - CALTC letter submitted November, 2011
On behalf of the Canadian Alliance for Long Term Care (CALTC), please find our submission with regard to the review of the Health Accord. Our goal with this submission is to ensure that the next Health Accord places greater emphasis on the proper research, planning, coordination, delivery and funding of services to seniors.

Recommendations from the Provincial Aging in Place Working Group to support older adults living in Manitoba
The Provincial Aging in Place Working Group, established in 2009, is comprised of representatives from government, Regional Health Authorities, the Long Term and Continuing Care Association of MB, the Non-Profit LTC Association and various interest groups including the Alzheimer Society of MB. The group is co-chaired by LTCAM and WRHA. |

Test Your Knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease
An online survey of baby boomers across Canada conducted by the Alzheimer Society reveals a worrying lack of awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. Survey results show that an astonishing 23 per cent of boomers can’t name any of the early signs of Alzheimer’s disease, even though their risk doubles every five years after age 65.
